APPI Heritage Celebration

Please come to celebrate AAPI Heritage month!
Sunday, May 10, 2026
2:00 -3:30 PM
Saxe Middle School
468 South Ave, New Canaan

Music, dances, martial arts by children and adults. We honor Mothers with a rose! All are welcome!

The local Chinese community will be showcasing Chinese performing art forms in an exciting program of dances, songs, musical and martial arts performances by children and adults living in Southern Connecticut. We invite the public to join us and be transported to an afternoon in Asia, 6-year-olds will perform the lion dance usually performed at Chinese New Years.

May is Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month, celebrating the rich and diverse cultural heritage of Americans whose country of origin include China, Japan, Korea, Philippines, Taiwan, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Pakistan, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Nepal, and Samoa, among other Pacific islands. We also celebrate the contributions AAPI members have made in every walk of life to enrich the communities where they live and work, whether in the fields of scientific research, education, entertainment, health care, corporate or small businesses.
